(I just realized that the photo I am currently using as a background is written in old German!)
The two camps I went to were both in Germany, they were both christian camps. The first one, TeenStreet, was located in Oldenburg and I had a lot of fun although I didn't learn as much as I had hoped for.. then again it is rather difficult to teach 4000 teens something that they all want to learn. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that I don't really remember much about that week. I was with the French (since I signed up through OM France) and since there were so many people they had smaller groups within the country categories. I was in a group with about six other guys. Our coach was very funny and always brought some good jokes into the round. At TeenStreet they emphasized on worship, which I didn't mind a bit since I love to sing. The theme was NewSong 40 which was referring to Psalm 40 where David says we should sing a new song and leave our old song behind. Basically what it meant is that we should start a new life with God, led by God, and leave all our old and bad habits behind. I'm very sorry if any of that was confusing.
The second camp was further south in Dornholzhausen (which is a tiny town that no one knows exists). It happened a day after TeenStreet ended. This camp was just called Youth Camp and it was the second time that I was going there. It's run by a very Pentecostal church and it was interesting to see the differences in how they worship and pray, not that it was very different. The whole idea of praying aloud, all at the same time, was a new one that I learned of last year. This camp was also rather international with British, Spanish, Germans and then (if you can consider my brother and I) French. There were 96 campers this year which was an incredible amount for that camp. We slept in tents, I attached a photo of them at the end of this post. Apart from that I enjoyed the times we had together to discuss various topics. And of course I enjoyed all the jokes. Many, many jokes.
